In the past, follicular unit transplant required removing a strip of scalp from the back of the head and cutting this strip down to individual grafts. Patients were left with a long, linear scar that would be hard to notice… unless they cut their hair short or experienced scar widening- also known as scar hypertrophy. The Neograft device removes individual follicles one at a time from the back of the scalp, leaving tiny holes that close up within several days leaving no noticeable scar, according to Dr. David. The hairs are harvested with a gentle suction that protects and preserves their roots, while speeding up the follicular unit extraction process dramatically.

Bill, a 53 year old male, recently underwent a Neograft hair transplant with Dr. David after having a previous “strip” procedure many years ago. “I had virtually no pain afterward, and even though I wear my hair short, you can’t tell I had anything removed from the back of my head.
